Lens Materials
Eye Glass Lens Materials
Glass – glass lenses provide wonderful optics. However glass lenses are very heavy. These lenses if they should break could cause serious harm to the eye. Though still available, glass is no longer widely used for eye wear and can be costly to have made.
Plastic – plastic lenses are lightweight and the most affordable lens materials. Plastic lenses are not a good fit for all prescriptions. Those patients who have higher plus or minus prescriptions will find the lenses to be thicker and not as cosmetically appealing.
Polycarbonate – though a bit more expensive than traditional plastic lenses, polycarbonate lenses are growing in popularity amount patients. These lenses are impact and shatter resistant and are a preferred material for childrens eyewear.
High-index Plastic – thanks to technological breakthroughs, the high-index plastic lens is able to provide a thinner, lighter lens. These designer lenses are usually more expensive than the traditional plastic counterpart.
Warranty Information
Your quality eyewear is warranted for one year from the date of purchase. If your eyewear breaks under normal wearing conditions, we will at our option repair or replace with the same or comparable eyewear for free. This warranty does NOT allow for ANY changes in your prescription. Our lens treatments are the hardest and most durable surface protection available. However, any lens (including glass) can scratch or break.
Lenses should be cleaned with a microfiber cloth or 100% cotton rag. We recommend not using Kleenex, paper towels or other fiber blends as this can leave superficial scratches on the surface of the lens.
This warranty does not cover loss, theft, notched or drilled lenses, animal damage or superficial hairline scratches that have no effect on vision or appearance
